Do Not Kill Me Before My Time, I Am On The Right Track - Buhari 'Goes On His Knees', Begs Nigerians

President Muhammadu Buhari, has on Tuesday, December 6, reiterated that his administration is on the right track, despite the biting economic recession hovering all over the nation.
The President, according to the statement made available to Newsmen by his Spokesman, Garba Shehu, stated this in Dakar, Senegal, while speaking with a group of Nigerians in the Diaspora, on the sideline of the 3rd Dakar International Forum on Peace and Security.
The development is coming at a time, when pressure has continued to mount on the President, over failing power supply, nose-diving naira, comatose economy, renewed Niger Delta militant attacks, Pro-Biafra agitators, unending Boko Haram attacks, and the alleged political realignment, ahead of 2019.
Recall, that the Central Bank Of Nigeria, CBN, former Governor, His Royal Highness and Emir Of Kano, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi; former President of Nigeria, Olusegun Obasanjo, among several others, have recently criticized Buhari’s economic policies.
Buhari unwittingly reacting to the criticism, urged the Nigerian elite to stop mounting pressure on him, and making expensive demands from his government, maintaining that things can no longer be done the old way.
The President, speaking further, noted that his administration was on the right track, to improve the image of the country, by entrenching transparency, and probity in governance.

“The last 16 years of poor handling of the nation’s resources and infrastructures, have continued to impact negatively on the country.

“This administration is pleased we won the election, we are pleased Nigerians are cooperating with us. But the problems are so enormous, that we need the cooperation of Nigerians, particularly the elite.
“They (elite) should reflect on the condition of the country, and stop making expensive demands, because things cannot be done the old way,” Buhari said.

On the welfare of Nigerians in the Diaspora, Buhari assured them that the Federal Government will continue to promote good neighbourliness, and improve the negative perception about Nigerians abroad.

“Nigerians are known for their competitiveness, and I am very passionate about Nigeria. I will continue to preach good neighbourliness, and work hard to improve the numerous human and material resources in the country,” he said.

Meanwhile, the President of the Nigerian Community, Cote D’ Ivoire, Alhaji Adebayo Yahaya, in his own remarks, commended the President, for his bold and unflinching fight against corruption, saying, “Nigerians are praying for your success, don’t relent, do not lose hope, the almighty God is behind you.”
