My Dear Hon.Monday Eyo Okon
Good morning my Honourable member representing Uyo at the State House of Assembly. I had promised writing you this letter since last December but had decided to put it on hold because I didn’t want people to feel that I have any personal grudge against your person and for the fact that some people close to you had started spreading rumour that I am sponsored to attack you.
Let me use this medium to clarify to all that I am not on anybody’s payroll. It is in my blood to speak my mind whenever I see things not done properly and as such, nobody can buy my mouth. Having said that, let’s get straight to the business of the day.
Sir,Few months from now,you will clock 2 years in office as the representative of Uyo people in the State House of Assembly. I like others have been watching keenly to see your performances in the House but allow me to say that I am disappointed. This is not the kind of representation we should get.
I am yet to hear that you have presented a bill in the House which is the primary assignment of any lawmaker. I had expected that as a former Vice-Chairman of Uyo Local Government, You will shine there and prove your mettle but alas, we are disappointed.
2 years as a Lawmaker, you haven’t come back home to brief us your Constituents on your progress if any in the House and Up till now, I am yet to see anybody that you have empowered.
As a lawmaker, what have you attracted to Uyo Local Government? Nothing..The only time we hear about you is one you allow yourself to be dragged into frivolities.
Your Colleague, Rt.Hon Aniekan Uko has to my knowledge briefed his people twice and has empowered his supporters, you have not. Instead of you doing that ,You decided to cause enmity in Uyo by desiring a second term, How will that be possible? anun ase nnam mkpo nte utoho Uyo?Guess What? Rt.Hon Aniekan Uko has disassociated himself from that bill.
Not done with that, you joined in plotting to remove The Speaker Rt.Hon Onofiok Luke even when you know that the whole State loves him yet you decided to be on the part of fighting the people.
Right now,I cannot walk publicly with my head raised up because I am mocked everywhere I go to; guess why? Because you have decided to join in supporting a bill that is anti-people.
Few weeks ago ,a Young Man wrote to you advising you to come and brief us on your activities as our representative, what did you do? You sent your boys after him and they are threatening the boy all over, not done, you went to Anti-Kidnapping Squad at Ikot Akpan Abia and asked them to arrest People that are criticizing you and that your life is under threat.In return, you will install Solar Power lights in their Station.
Ah Ah Oga Murray, won’t that money have been enough for you to use and brief one ward in Uyo? between you that moves around with Boys and Police Escort and we that doesn’t ,whose live is at risk?
Sir, Are you aware that Uyo has not been adequately carried along ?Are you aware all our Lands had been acquired by Government and till now, we haven’t been adequately compensated? Are you aware that Uyo Main Market is no more available and that if you as our Lawmaker has spoken for once, maybe something would have been done by now?
The People you are joining to fight ordinary people like us, I believe you are aware that most of them are in tune with their people?
It is not Late for now, Prove to us that you are working.Fix a date for your constituency briefing and prove people like us wrong.
Your handlers told me that had it been you were a second timer, you would have hold a sensitive position in the house and I asked if Hon Aniekan Bassey, Essien Nse(Indo) and Emmanuel Bassey(Iraq) are second timers.
As for that second term ambition, shelve it Sir, It is the turn of ETOI CLAN, Nothing will change that fact. I won’t want to dwell on that much for today, we will talk about it when the time comes.
For now,I will ask that you Disassociate yourself from that evil Property Charge Bill meanwhile, have you really gone through that bill? Do you know that the bulk of charges from that bill will be from UYO? Are you aware of that Sir? Flee from that bill before it might make or mar your chances Politically in life. You know the Internet never forgets.
I also will ask that you shame us by fixing a date for your CONSTITUENCY BRIEFING and EMPOWERMENT OF YOUR CONSTITUENT and Finally, Please you are there on behalf of Uyo Sons and Daughters, Don’t associate yourself with People who are against the ordinary people on the Street.
When you came in, you said your mandate is to deliver dividends of democracy to us the good people of Uyo and that you need our support and prayers; we have done our part Sir, have you done yours? Capital No…But Still there is time…FIX A DATE FOR YOUR CONSTITUENCY BRIEFING.
