RE :STAKEHOLDERS KICK AGAINST ANIEKAN UKO"S PRIVATE HOSPITAL BILL : TOO CHEAP A BLACKMAIL FOR THE VOICE OF IBESIKPO ASUTAN
Most things would have been left unattended to,especially in the nascent style of journalism most of my colleagues have resorted to,but for the innocent public who may fall prey to their misharpened cutlass, clarification had to be embarked on.
I wouldn't say I was rattled when some misinterpretations of issues in the social media started trailing the just concluded public hearing that took place earlier today on three bills, but I felt for some people in the profession who cannot till now report simply what transpired in an event.
Three bills was slated for the public hearing of today
* A bill for a law to provide for the establishment of Akwa Ibom State Health Insurance Agency.
* A bill for a law to provide for the establishment of Akwa Ibom State Primary Healthcare Development Agency and for Matters Connected Therewith.
* A bill for a Law to make provisions for the establishment and control of Private Hospitals and other Healthcare Facilities in Akwa Ibom State and for other matters Connected Therewith 2016.
Having deliberated commendably on the first two bills, the commisioner for Health Dr.Dominic Ukpong at no point in his speech said he is against the Healthcare bill, but rather he said the bill was apt as it will check as the bill has stipulated quackery in the private health sector, but rather suggested that the bill be revisited to enable more research before its reintroduction.
Hear him
"None medical professionals are now encroaching in prescription medical practice; for this reason we request for a stand down of this bill to enable more research before reintroduction"
I think a sound person can quickly come to terms with the submission of the Honourable Commissioner instead of trying to raise dust of ambiguity and myopic thinking.
Methinks, the commissioner made no mistake in responding to the invitation extended to him,but from the calls he has sent across this evening,he is to say the least quite dissapointed.
The sixth assembly has remained and will remain one formidable body focused for the development of the state, not even internal nor external distraction can cause them to derail from that promise to Akwa Ibom people.
So if you have any issues with Aniekan Uko personally, employ other avenues to settle it but don't think that junk journalism can stop the revered gentleman from his effective representation to his people nor to collide with his honourable colleagues.
Am still waiting for the proof of when "kick against" is synonymous with "stand down"
